Holiday Season Preview

Mark your calendar for family fun in November and December. Here are just some of the events to look forward to in the Geneva Lake area.

Lake Geneva Holiday Open House, Nov. 12 and 13 

Start your holiday shopping with the Lake Geneva Holiday Open House. As you stroll through downtown, musicians, authors and artists entice shoppers to sip and taste their way though Lake Geneva’s historic downtown district filled with one-of-a-kind shops, antiques and art.

Christmas in the Country, Nov. 20 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Join Grand Geneva do the kickoff of the annual six-week long Christmas in the Country celebration. The resort will flip the switch on more than 2 million lights throughout the property, and the follow it up with a grand fireworks display. Discover this season’s all new kids activity stations and live entertainment throughout the resort.

Craft Fair, Nov. 26, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Admission is free for this craft fair featuring the wares of area crafters in the quaint Geneva Lake Museum setting at 255 Mill St., Lake Geneva.

Santa Cruise, Nov. 26 – Dec. 31

Start a new holiday tradition abroad the Santa Cruise. The entire family will be enchanted with the twinkling lights and displays along the shoreline of Geneva Lake during a ride to the North Pole to see Santa Claus. All boats are heated and a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Santa Cause the supports local charities.

Festival of Lights, Dec 2, 2015

Experience the small town joys of the holiday with Lake Geneva’s Annual Festival of Lights, held at the Lakefront Riviera. Cocoa and cookies served to enjoy during the reading of a Christmas story and awaiting a visit from Santa. There will also be an abundance of in-store events around town for shoppers.

An Old World Christmas, Dec. 3, 4, 10 and 11, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate 19-century Christmas at Old World Wisconsin with the tales  and holiday customs, featuring Old World storytelling, live performances, free horse-drawn bobsled rides, caroling and hymn singing, food sampling from cherishes recipes, and many more activities that capture the merriment of the season. The 1880s village will be trimmed for the holidays.

A Victorian Christmas, Dec. 3 room – 3 p.m. 

Presented by the Geneva Lake Museum, a Victorian Christmas provides entertainment and family fun for all ages. Free admission.

Electric Christmas Parade, Dec. 3, 5 p.m.

Celebrate your inner elf at this year’s parade designed to promote being cheerful and looking for the positive things life.

Holiday Cookie Workshop, Dec. 10 and 17, noon – 3 p.m. 

The Lake Geneva School of Cooking helps adults and kids get in the holiday spirit by baking classic cookies and biscotti from around the world in the hands-on class.
